Wedding Weaving

For this bespoke commission, I transformed a newlywed couple’s wedding garments- that were handmade in Nigeria- into a woven wall hanging full of memories. Using ribbons of their fabric, I wove a geometric design that they chose, allowing the colours and textures their wedding attire to guide the composition. The result was a unique and personal piece that, in their words, “looked like their wedding day.”
