Cotswolds Cloth

The changing seasons in the Cotswolds landscape inspired this recent commission for a newly rennovated cottage near Morton-In-Marsh. 

We envisioned a pair of wall hangings that would bring the beauty of the surrounding countryside into the client's home. The colours of the summer fields and the flowers in their garden influenced the palette of each piece.

Local fabric designer Rapture and Wright kindly provided me with some offcuts to weave into the artwork. The beautifully hand-printed patterns on linen were a welcome addition to each piece, as the natural colours fit in perfectly with the woven design and elevated the texture.

The artwork is hung on a wooden dowel painted with Farrow and Ball Breakfast Room Green.
